Earn that Thanksgiving dinner! Join Carbondale Parks and Recreation Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28 for a 5K Walk/Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run. This race is for all ages and very non-competitive. We encourage costumes, fun, and families.
Ages: All Ages Welcome
Cost: The same for either the 1 mile fun run or 5k fun run
Adults (18-61) Pre-Registration $15 / Race Day Registration $20
Youth (2-17) & Older Adults (62+) Pre-Registration $7 / Race Day Registration $10
2 and Under are Free

Race Notes:
Pre-Registration: Packet pick-ups Tuesday, November 26 from 6am - 9pm, Wednesday, November 27 from 6am-5pm at the Carbondale Rec Front Desk, and race day 8:30am - 9:15am in the Rec Gymnasium.
Day of: Bib pick up starts at 8:30am. You can register for the race online up until 9:20am on race day morning; prices for race increase at 11:59pm November 22.
Parking: No street parking in front of rec center between 6th and 5th Ave.

- The 1-mile course will run from Colorado Ave to Main Street. Turn left on Main Street. At Snowmass/Main/Catherine Store Rd take a left onto the Rio Grande Bike Path. Turn left to the 7th Street connector. Turn left on Colorado Ave.
-The 5K course will run along Colorado Ave to Main Street. Turn left on Main Street. At Snowmass/Main/Catherine Store Rd take a right onto Snowmass Sidewalk, cross over to continue to follow the bike path at White Hill. Take a right at the 133 intersection continuing on Crystal River Bike Path until 8th st. Turn right onto 8th street. Turn left onto the Rio Grande Trail. U Turn onto the gravel path continuing East. Cross 8th street and turn right on to the 7th street connector. Turn left at Colorado Ave.
Start Time: 9:30am for 5K and 1 Mile fun Run; fast runners please line up at the front; if you are walking please line up in the back of the race line.
Timing: This race is Chip Timed
Merc: Sweatpants for $20 and Oven Mits for $5. They can be purchased at packet pick up or post race. They will sell out fast so don't delay.
Dogs: Leashed dogs are allowed to run the course, but are not allowed in the registration areas, food areas, or to hang out at the finish line or near timing systems post race. We have had incidence in the past with dogs knocking over timing systems and fighting. If we have any additional dog fights or problems dogs will not be allowed in the future so please keep dogs apart from each other unless they are known to one another and prevent them from jumping on racers.
Post Race:
-Medal hand out at the finish line
Prizes:
5K: 1st-3rd M/F youth and adults. 1st in 62+. The grand prize will go to the middle place 5K racer; $400 voucher for a "Staycation" the Redstone Inn and 2 day passes to Avalanche Ranch Hot Springs!!!
1 Mile: 1st-3rd Youth. The grand prize will go to the middle place 1 miler: a new pair of shoes from Independence Run and Hike
-Pie Slices provided by Village Smithy, snacks, and drinks in the gymnasium and on the patio
-Awards announced at 10:30.
-Grand Prize will be hand delivered Monday post-race and announced in the Sopris Sun.
