Inspired by the success of Scandinavian summer ski schools and similar camps run by our friends in Plain Valley, MVNT is excited to run a Prep Team overnight camp this summer at Pearrygin Lake State Park. Pearrygin Lake is a perfect location for the mix of structured and non-structured activities that will be part of this camp. Our goals are to use skiing to create a fun, social, summer experience that creates strong bonds among participants and builds motivation for years to come!
This camp is meant for skiers at or around the Prep Team level of MVNT. Generally these are skiers in or around the middle school years, U12-U14 or less experience U16 skiers (YOB: 2010-2014). This camp is appropriate for both new and experienced rollerskiers (contact us if you need help locating equipment – we have limited supplies available). XC Skiing experience is strongly recommended for new rollerskiers.
Food will be provided. Skiers will be camping out in tents (self-provided/shared with other skiers). Skiers should plan to provide their own training and camping equipment or make arrangements to borrow (we may be able to help – be in touch if you need help with specific items). A gear list will be provided in the lead-up to camp.
This is an overnight camp so participants should be ready to be away from parents and family.
This is a device-free camp. Coaches phone numbers will be available, but note that cell reception is spotty at Pearrygin Lake.
Email Pete (pete@mvnsef.org) with questions.
