WELCOME to the second NAUGHTY PINE Gravel Ramble

Supported by: Caisse Desjardins des Rivieres de Pontiac.

OCTOBER 19th, 2024

Start / Finish is in Campbell's Bay at the beautiful Brauwerk Brewery and Restaurant.

Camping availble on site. Pre-pay via this reg event link for camping. It is $10/person/per night. Washroom and potable water available on site. Van-life welcome but please reg same as a tent.

In brief, the event is untimed and only a few key intersections will have signage, (Strava group ride/route will be shared to join if you want to do so). If conditions are dry a min tire width of 35mm for an experienced gravel rider will do with a few spots that will need some extra 'care' getting through and some luck! A 38mm to 40mm is a good choice for most.

Overall, the route is mostly fast gravel roads, a bit of pavement, some refinished rail trail (PPJ rail trail) and a few extra special 'secteurs' that will challenge even the most adept riders (Chemin Milliken climb, Chemin Brousse and Tubman, to name a few), be it a steep chunky climb or an unmaintained road section.

DISTANCES:

The Chickadee 30KM Fun Ramble (this is a friendly route and does not include the above mentioned secteurs. note: km 17 to km 19 along Chemin Hamilton is considered unmaintained road/atv track with a bridge crossing. this would be the 'spiciest' section but overall, not chunky, just less travelled).

The Blue Jay 60KM - includes the secteurs: Chemin Brosse, Hamilton and Brule. A bit chunky and a bit sporty - but all manageable!

The Sapsucker 120KM - includes all of the above plus: Milliken Climb, Chemin Yach and many more....

TIMING:

The 60km and 120KM start at 9:30AM

The 30KM starts at 10:30AM

Your Registration Fee Includes:

  1. Post ride food and a drink from Brauwerk Brewery (please make note in your reg of any allergy/intolerance/preference)
  2. A chance to win a draw prize
  3. Fully stocked aid stations
  4. Event goodies
  5. Sweep support

As always, there is very little pavement. The routes will encompass a wide variety of terrain (>90% unpaved) and have support/sweep from the Pontiac ATV Association and Aid stations that are fully stocked with hot/cold water, electrolyte mix (Hammer Nutrition Heed or similar), fruit and snacks to keep you going!

More details to come.
