On Saturday, September 21, 2024 O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Club, in collaboration with the NCOCA, is ending the summer season with Paddlefest! The event will have short and long courses open to OC1, OC2, V1, and Surfski. Courses will start by Encinal Beach in Alameda. Each paddler may race one or both courses for $30 total (Juniors race for $15). Race fee includes brats, buns, sauerkraut, beverages, and other tasty things a la Oktoberfest and autumnal celebrations.
Waivers
Prior to getting on the water, you must have a completed 2024 NCOCA waiver. If you have participated in an NCOCA race this year, you likely have one already, and it is not necessary to do it again. Complete the waiver here. We will verify all registrations with waivers.

Registration
All registration and payments must be done on Webscorer. Registration closes on Thursday, September 19, 11:59 PM. No race day registrations. You may register for one or both races for $30 total. Juniors (19 and under) race for $15.

If you would like to participate in both courses, please register and pay for ONE of the courses above with your craft and division and email secretary@okalanioutrigger.org with your craft and division to register for the other at no cost. You MUST notify the secretary by the closing date of registration so we have time to verify and reconcile the start lists before race day.
Race categories are as follows for both short and long courses:
OC1 – Junior (19 and under), Open, Master 50+
V1 – Junior (19 and under), Open, Master 50+
Surfski – No age divisions
OC2 – Open over 19
OC2 - (19 and under)
OC2 - Parent/child
Surfski Double - No age divisions
OC2 entries are $60, $15 for each Junior. Only one participant needs to register. Choose the Team Name option when registering and include the names of both racers.
Safety
Paddlers must be able to remount craft in rough water without assistance.
Paddlers must wear a PFD while on the water. Both inflatable and non-inflatable PFDs are acceptable.
Paddlers must wear leashes connecting to the paddler to the craft.
Safety boats will be present for the safety of paddlers. Safety boats’ sole responsibility is the safety of the paddlers and are not responsible for your craft.

In the spirit of eco-friendliness and reducing plastic and metal waste, awards will be edible.

Event Map and Parking
Event parking will be located at the nearby back lot. Navigate map apps to W Hornet Ave & Skyhawk Street., Alameda, CA. Please don’t park in the Encinal Boat Ramp main lot.
