New for 2024 all the races will start and finish from the beautiful and spacious Big Twin Lake Resort near the old-west stylized town of Winthrop and all of the races will now be on one weekend with the 50M & 50K on Saturday May 18th and the 20M & 25K on Sunday May 19th.  For more information about the race head to: www.rainshadowrunning.com

From the very first conversation with Loree and Jessica it was obvious we had found our new home for the race this year at Big Twin Lake Resort. This multi-generation family business will soon be celebrating their 100th anniversary! Any small biz that's been around that long must be doing something right and after our first meetings with them at Big Twin it was easy to imagine us having a great race weekend there. It's a huge park-like property on the west side of Big Twin Lake just a few miles outside of downtown Winthrop and just 5 miles from the trails at Sun Mountain. Since we only just reached out to them a month ago today they already had quite a few folks with reservations there including one group of folks who come to fish the lake every year. So we won't have the property all to ourselves, which would be ideal, but the property is plenty big enough for our start/finish area. And for those of you who are looking for low-key, no services (RV hook-ups, etc.), dry camping at the start/finish we can probably accommodate you (though space is limited so do register ASAP please).

Since we'll be sharing the campground with others we will need to strictly adhere to the quiet hours (10pm to 7am) and their other campground rules including no arriving after 10pm, pets on leash, 5mph speed limit, etc.

One of the best parts of the new start/finish area is that we should be able to accommodate everyone (or at least most) who wants to camp at the start/finish. Camping at the start/finish will be pretty basic with no water/sewer/electric hook ups or WiFi. Just a nice grassy area. Portable bathrooms available nearby. A lake to swim in nearby. Folks will be able to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Everyone must depart by Noon on Monday.

The cost is $20/per adult and you can either sleep in your vehicle or in a tent. For larger vehicles such as RVs or Camping Trailers that don't fit in a standard parking spot there is an additional $20 fee. The cost will be the same whether you stay one night or all three nights. Kids 18 and under can camp for free but please include them in the registration so we have an accurate accounting of who is staying at Big Twin for planning purposes.

Registration must be made in advance before 11:59pm on Thursday May 16th.

You must arrive during check-in hours: Friday 2pm to 10pm or Saturday 7am to 10pm
