Thanks for being a part of the 2024 SNOWY RIVER EXTREME RACE!!
The Snowy River Extreme race is to be held on Sunday, the 6th of October on the section of the Snowy River between Munyang Power Station and Island Bend.
Multiple classes will cater for expert and intermediate paddlers, as well pack rafters/inflatable kayakers.
-
- The Expert kayak race will be contested on a 2km Class III-IV stretch of the river, starting just below the “Can Opener” rapid and ending at the “Rafter’s Track”.
- The Intermediate race will be held following the expert race on the 1.7km class III stretch of the river, starting at the “Rafter’s Track” and ending at the flying fox at the gauging station.
- The C-boater, Inflatable Kayak, Pack Raft and Junior races will be also be held on the intermediate course. The C-boat division requires both racers to be in open or closed hard-shell canoes, kneeling with a single-bladed paddle - see rules (link below) for full details.
All events will be run as “pairs” time-trial races, which require competitors to race in groups of two.
This year we will again host Women's (Expert & Intermediate) and Juniors' (Intermediate) divisions, provided a minimum of 3 teams enter the respective categories.
For event and paddler insurance purposes, all paddlers must either hold an active Paddle Australia (PA) membership or pay a Single Event Non-Member Fee ($24 for Seniors or $12 for Juniors).
The insurance fee for non-PA entrants will be automatically added as part of the registration process.
Check the official rules on our website !
