Race report

Goodness, this was a toughie. I came into this one with less bleacher training than last year and it showed. Funny enough my first lap felt great but my overall fitness and endurance just wasn't there on the second lap. It was a good three year stretch and I doubt I'll ever find another 2-3 miles like the Rusty Crown. I tried to enjoy my last go on the Rusty Crown but it was a love-hate situation. The volunteers were great as always. Looking forward to my next EBA adventure.

Race report

Second time doing this race, first was 2013. I decided again to take it easy on the first lap and try to make hay on the second. Felt pretty rough through some sections on the backside but was able to rebound and stay steady for the last 5-6 miles. I thought my deficit to first was greater but I ended up only a minute or so out of first. I guess I have to remember that the guy in front of me is probably suffering as well. Looking forward to next year!

Race report

Went into this race with a strategy to have something left on the second lap. My secondary strategy was to make sure I didn't walk on the flat sections. I found myself 5 minutes back at the half but I ended up with a strong second lap to finish 2nd. I caught a glimpse of 1st with a mile to go but he also caught a glimpse of me and picked up his pace. Love this course!
