Silk Purse, stroke, beautiful conditions but very cold day. Misty fog made it hard to find buoys. Also, a mud island to navigate around. Karolin was great on the steering!

I think everyone started on the warmup horn - including us from our warmup spot once we realized everyone was going! Great first OW race. Excellent steering by Carson - we avoided getting stuck in the mud (as the safety launch and some of our competitors did). Water was flat, so a nice, gentle intro for me.

Very fun. Beautiful day. Veered to port a lot. By the diabolical turn, it felt good to pull hard on starboard!

Windy day for our little red boat - we took on water and forgot a sponge. Was gripping with my starboard arm (we needed a lot of extra starboard pressure) and it was starting to give out on our way back through the cut. Not bad for a first time though.
