Description of Courses:

Full Course 11.7km:
START: Approx 350m upstream of Ascot Kayak Club Jetty
Paddle downstream to the right of Ron Courtney Island
Under Tonkin Bridge (1.4 km)
Under Garratt Rd Bridge (3.4 km)
Past Maylands boat yards
Turn anti-clockwise round red Spit Post to entrance to Ascot Waters Marina
Return through Ascot Waters
Turn right out of Ascot Waters (upstream)
Pass under Garratt Road Bridge (8.5 km), Tonkin Highway Bridge (10.5 km)
1.2 km to finish at the Ascot Kayak Club Jetty, keeping to the right of Ron Courtney Island.

Short Course 6.6km:
START: Approx 350m upstream of Ascot Kayak Club Jetty
Paddle downstream to the right of Ron Courtney Island
Before Garret Road Bridge, turn anti-clockwise around red Spit Post off the Bayswater Paddlesports Club Jetty
Finish at the Ascot Kayak Club Jetty, keeping to the right of Ron Courtney Island.

Guppy Course 3.2km and 4.4km:
START: Approx 350m upstream of Ascot Kayak Club Jetty
Continue downstream to large orange buoy before Tonkin Highway Bridge
Return upstream to the AKC jetty
Turn through the finish line
Paddle downstream to the right of Ron Courtney Island
U10:
Paddle around the Island and return to the AKC Finish Line at AKC Jetty. – 3.2 km
U12 & Novices:
Continue downstream to large orange buoy before Tonkin Bridge.
Return upstream to the Finish Line at AKC Jetty. – 4.4 km

Hazards:
Boat Traffic: Including ferries and wine cruises.
Clarkson Reserve: Deep, wide, rough in severe weather.
Ascot Waters: Very low bridges, narrow channel, shallow, some boat traffic
