The 2025 Watermans To The Wall is an iconic community swim event hosted by Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, with all profits from the event used to purchase lifesaving equipment to keep beachgoers safe.

 

Starting at Watermans Bay beach the 2.4km course covers a stunning part of the WA coastline. The +400 swimmers compete as individuals.

 

A cash prize and medals are on offer, with novelty prizes also awarded.

 

The event has 2 categories:

  • the WTTW long course (solo only approx. 2.4k), and
  • the short course (solo only approx. 1.2k).

  

What you need to know:

  • Early entry (up to 31 March 2025) fee is $50.00 per competitor 
    • Entries before 31 March 2025 will receive a souvenir WTTW gift (capped to the first 150 entries)
  • Late entry (from 1 April 2025) fee is $70.00 per competitor 
  • Entries will be accepted on race day at a fee of $70.00 per competitor, however they will NOT be eligible for medals or the estimated time prize.
  • Limited to 500 entries
  • No refunds
  • $500 prize for the swimmer finishing closest to their estimated time (long course only).
  • Medals will be awarded for fastest male & female open swimmers, and fastest male & female junior (under 16) in both long course and short course swimmers.
  • Wetsuits allowed (no watch) for closest to estimated time award.
  • Wetsuits not eligible for fastest times categories.
  • Swimmers must be min age of 12 on the day of the event
  • Time limit for swim will be 1hr 30 mins
  • The winning club will be awarded the "Champion Club Pennant".
    • The winning club must have a min of 10 solo long course swimmers entered from your club to qualify for the "Champion Club Pennant".

Registrations close on midnight Friday the 11th April 2025.

 

In case of dispute, the event committee will adjudicate, with their decision being final.

Participant Declaration: "Club" for the purposes of this declaration means and includes the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club Inc, Surf Life Saving Western Australia Inc and their respective directors, officers, members, volunteers, servants or agents. Warning: Participation in the Event can be inherently dangerous. Serious accidents can and often do happen which may result in me being injured or even killed. I have voluntarily read and understood this warning and accept and assume the inherent risks in participating in the Event. Entry Prerequisite: I declare that I have undertaken sufficient training and have acquired a level of fitness and surf knowledge necessary to complete this race. Exclusion of Liability: Except where provided or required by law and such cannot be excluded, I agree that it is a term of my entry in the Event (if accepted) that the Event Organiser and the Club are each absolved from all liability however arising from injury or damage (whether fatal or otherwise) however caused (including by the negligence of the Event Organiser or the Club) arising out of my participation in the Event. Release and Indemnity: In consideration of my application for entry in the Event being accepted I: (a) release and forever discharge the Event Organiser and the Club from all claims that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my participation in the Event; and (b) indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organiser and the Club to the extent permitted by law in respect of any claim by any person including but not only another participant in the Event arising as a result of or in connection with my participation in the Event. I agree to, abide by and accept the rules and regulations of the Event and to accept the decisions of the Race committee. I consent to the free use of my name and photograph in any newspaper advertising material, video or telecast by the Event organiser and/or its sponsors. I have read, understood, acknowledge and agree to the above declaration including the warning, exclusion of liability, release and indemnity. If the participant is under 18 years of age: the release must be signed by a parent or guardian legally entitled to enter into this release on behalf of the participant. And The parent or guardian that signs the release expressly consents to the participant participating in the event and consents to the Organisation providing first aid and obtaining emergency medical treatment for the participant if necessary and Agrees to accept financial responsibility for costs related to any medical or emergency treatment. Parents/Guardians will also be required to sign a hard copy of this waiver at the event on site registration table during the check in process.
