Paddlers have the option to paddle a double and/or the 10K course.
Post a messabge to the coachs in the club whatsapp chat group organise a double boat / partner.
NOTE: All paddlers in a team boat / double need to register individually.
Paddlers can choose to paddle 5 or 10km (Juniors also have the option of 2km). You can paddle a single or double but we are encouraging paddlers to have a go in a double.
Registration - closes at midnight on the Thursday before the race
ENTRY FEE (payable on the day) – $5 per adult, $2 for juniors and $0 for Life Members payable at race check-in using card or cash (please have the correct amount). Entry includes the post race BBQ.
Race Start - 9:00am on the water for the 2 and 5K course. The start time for the 1km course is 8am. The race will star from the beach in front of the clubhouse.
Course - members 19 years and older will do the usual 5km distance. Juniors have the option (based on their skill level) of paddling 1, 2 or 5km. Course Maps
Handicaps – will be published in Webscorer on the Friday before the race.
Use of Club Boats – Club member's wanting to use a club boat for this event should email timing@shirekayaking.info.
Juniors – In line with PNSW guidelines, paddlers 12 years and under must be accompanied by a suitably experienced and capable on-water chaperon. Our Head Coach (shirekayaking@gmail.com ) can provide advice to guardians about what supervision they should provide for juniors 12-18 years old.
Safety Requirements – The usual safety requirements apply to this event. All paddlers must wear a life jacket to 50N standard.
