The Teanaway Country 100 miler is a tough and incredibly scenic alpine race in the Cascade Mountain Range in eastern Washington state. With about 31,000 feet of elevation gain in remote and rugged terrain this "out and back" course is not to be taken lightly. The challenges are profound, and so are the rewards. Or if you're looking for something shorter be sure to check out the Teeny-Way 50K the same weekend! With 11,000 feet of gain to boast, don’t be fooled by the name. This extremely tough 50K rewards participants for their efforts with an incredible experience in a wild and beautiful place.
In 2018 Brian Morrison held the first Teanaway Country 100 Miler, creating a race that highlights this stunning location and a community that supports and celebrates the hard earned achievements of the participants. In 2024 Brian decided to step back from directing the race but knew he wanted to see it continue. We are honored that he handed the reins over to us and that we can keep this truly awesome race going. Just as before you can expect a grassroots event with a world class course, excellent course marking and top notch volunteers and aid stations. Read here for more about the history of the creation of this race

Trail Work & Qualifying
RACE QUALIFIER:
ALL entrants must have completed one of the following: Organized trail 50-miler OR 100K with at least 7,000 feet of gain since Jan. 1st 2021 or an organized trail 100 mile race since Jan. 1st, 2021
TRAIL WORK:
All 100-mile participants are required to volunteer on trails (any trails, any where) for at least eight hours between January 1st, 2025 - September 14th, 2025. Our goal is to have runners give back directly to the trails that they love and train on. Volunteering at a trail race will not meet this requirement. We must have received your trail work form by September 16th 2025. Click on the link here download the form.
Alternatively, if you cannot complete the trail work in time, you have the option to donate to a group or organization who focuses on trail restoration, building, or conservation. We have set the minimum donation at $100 and you need to submit proof of the donation to volunteer@rainshadowrunning.com

If you cancel on or after Aug 20 and before Sept 13th we offer a 50% credit that can be used for any of our events. If you don't cancel before Sept 13th we offer no rollover, credit or refunds. See our Cancellation Page for more details and to cancel your registration.
If Rainshadow Cancels an Event...
If we have to cancel an event for any reason (COVID, wildfire, acts of nature, etc.) we understand the disappointment to the participants. But it's something that does happen from time to time so you should be aware of that possibility and understand that when signing up there is that risk.
In the event of a cancellation we will do our best to notify folks as soon as we can but sometimes it may be a last minute situation. All participants will be sent an email as soon as possible with information about the cancellation. If the reason for cancelling the event is something out of our control like (dangerous weather, COVID shutdowns, etc.) we will likely offer folks a 50% credit towards a future event. If we are forced to cancel an event once it's already begun no credits will be issued. We do not issue refunds for any reason.
We understand how much money, energy, and time goes into training for these events, so if we can make adjustments to our race plans instead of cancelling, that is our priority, but at the end of the day, the safety of the participants, volunteers, staff, and the general public will be the main factor in our decision to cancel.
Reminder:
By registering for one of our events you agreed to accept the terms of and abide by our cancellation policy, our COVID precautions, our event rules and any other logistics or arrangements you must adhere to. Please don't ask for an exception to our cancellation policies, we've given them a lot of consideration and have tried to be as generous as we can.
