Monument Ridge Loop

The ride will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. from Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale. There will be a rider meeting at 9:50 at the registration table.  At the start/finish line we will have hot coffee, fresh seasonal fruit, and Los Bagels is continuing their support with a bagel donation. Please bring your own coffee cup.

Route description Monument/Bear River Ridge is a thirty-five mile loop with more than 3500 feet of climbing. We leave the Ferndale fairgrounds and follow Grizzly Bluff and Blue Slide Roads into Rio Del. Monument Road is a long steep paved/gravel climb to the all gravel Bear River Ridge (topping out at 2600') followed by a lumpy but paved descent into Ferndale via the Wildcat.

Please be self sufficient and know your limitations; there is no event support along the route.

As always, we require you be a member of RCMBA to participate. Annual memberships are $39 or you can join on a monthly basis for $5/month. To join, go to our website home page www.redwoodcoastmtb.org and scroll to the bottom and click on the JOIN RCMBA link. It will take you to International Mountain Bicycling Association JOIN page as we are a chapter of IMBA. After entering your information you will be presented with a pull-down menu; select Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association.

Note: We are guests at the Fairgrounds; they have requested we park on the north side of the lot, to the left as you enter. Please leave the restrooms and general area clean!
