The race is part of the Australian Ocean Racing Series (AORS) 2024, promoted and organised by Oceanpaddler. We are proud to be associated with Dean Gardiner and his team and look forward to having them back in Mandurah once again.
The Mandurah Cut Run has a 1 Star rating in the AORS Series so there's up to 1,000 points on offer.
This exciting race is the perfect warm up for both The Doctor and WA Race Week events.
The 13km course is well known to paddlers, being a fast downwind race that starts in the Dawesville Cut, follows the coast north to Halls Head and finishes at Doddis Beach in front of MSKC.
The start line has been moved around 300m east towards the Dawesville Bridge inside the channel.
We moved the event to a Saturday to enable competitors and their friends and family to come and spend the weekend in this special part of the world.
Race categories are the same as for AORS events such as The Doctor.
Timing:
10:00 - 12:00 Registration (at the MSKC clubhouse)
12:00 Safety briefing (at the MSKC clubhouse)
13:48 First wave starts
14:00 Final wave starts
This year we will have a one flag start. Paddlers will be lined up on the southern side of the channel at the fishing jetty. Further details will be given at the 12:00 noon Safety briefing.

- an approved Australian Standard AS 4758 or International Standard ISO 12402 lifejacket.
All surf ski and outrigger paddlers must wear an approved minimum Level 50 / Level 50S lifejacket. Your lifejacket must be Hi-Vis or a Hi-Vis top and is to be worn over the top of the lifejacket. No bum bag inflatable lifejackets are permitted.

A Race Cut Off time of 4pm will implemented this year - irrespective of where any paddlers are remaining on the course, the Race Director will have them assisted from the water.
Entry cancellations can be made up to and including 31 October 2024. A refund of the event entry fees, less a 20% administration fee, can be provided up to and including 31 October 2024.
