The “Mystery 5K/Kids 1 Mile” is a fundraiser to benefit Desert Mission Food Bank because of the number of people in need during Thanksgiving.
Desert Mission offers several free and reduced cost food programs, nutrition education, and resource and referral services. You can volunteer or donate directly at Desert Mission.
The race is a fun, family run/walk on a beautiful Saturday morning with all ages and ability levels welcome!
Early registration is $30 for the 5K, $20 for the Kids 1 Mile (Prices increase $5 on10/21). Limited to 200 runners.
All finishers get to choose a medal from a vast selection of past events! Your bib, wristband, snacks and raffle entry are all included! No packet pickup is necessary!
Optionally, 5K runners will get to choose one past race shirt from our inventory, while sizes last! Unfortunately, we only have adult sizes, but several designs to choose from!
Race day check in starts from 6:30 - 7:45 am. The 5K starts at 8:00 am and is chip timed with age group awards in 14 categories. Water, snacks and popsicles will be provided.
The flat course follows the canal and is located at AZ Falls, 5802 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018 with parking located at the Lutheran church, just North of the park off 56th Street.
Kids 1 Mile Run (live race only): Check in between 8 - 8:45 am. Start time will be 9 am. Kids may run 1 mile or less to earn their choice of medal and special treat at the finish. (No timing or awards) **Parents may run with their child for free or register to receive a medal. We have removed the age restriction for this race but event shirts are not included in the 1 Mile option. (We simply do not have kids sizes)
Virtual option: If you can’t make the date, you may run your race virtually on any day, time or course that you choose. Simply report back your finishing time on RunYourRaceAZ.com. Race packets will be mailed during race week, if not available sooner. (The Kids Race IS NOT available as a Virtual).
Our events are both dog and stroller friendly, but the course does include a short trail section that is not paved.
