WELCOME, PADDLERS .

 

This year you have a choice of  3 entry options.

 

 1) Full Distance Individual or Double craft - The iconic Clarence 100 (actually 105.7km) where you paddle each stage of each day in full. Please note, the age group for double categories is determined by the age of the youngest paddler

 2) Paddle each day relay option. Each stage is divided into 2 legs (total 6 legs). Each relay paddler must paddle 1 leg of each day of their choice. Relay teams can compete as  single, double or multi person craft. (paddle each day but half the total distance) 

3) Two person (Dynamic Duo) full distance team. This involves 2 people paddling the same craft class, working together to finish the course.Each member must complete the full distance . Finish times are Combined to create a total  time  result. Entering option 3 takes the paddler out of contention for an  individual performance  award.

 

To finish each stage of each day will require a concerted effort by the paddler. Our logistic safety support cannot maintain vigil for paddlers over an extended period beyond lunch time of each day. Please ensure you paddle , FAST NOT SLOW designed craft. Clarence 100 is not a leisurely paddle challenge.

 

Our philosophy has and always will be, take the paddle serious but bring a casual attitude. Throughout the weekend there are great opportunities to enjoy the  local hospitality establishments and we encourage you to take advantage of this during the weekend. Dinner bookings are essential at all eateries . Organiser is not responsibile for making bookings.

 

There are lots of accommodation options that suit various budgets but ideally book in early to assist with your planning.

If you are a supporter and wish to be part of the event logistic helpers  ,let us know as we are always in need of some happy and enthusiastic helping hands.

Fees vary. Early bird discounts apply up until August 31st . Fees are simple and standardised as follows..Adult full event solo ,team or relay member  $180. Junior entrants  18 and under $120. Paddlers  can also  enter single  stages over the three days and the prices for these reflect this option.  Early entry ensures you receive your  nominated sizing for our awesome complimentary race shirt. Late entries will not provide this assurance.

 

Attendance to the event opening briefing the night before is not compulsory however if you are doing this race for the first time it will ensure your last minute queries get answered and you receive your race items therefore  saving us and  you the rush at the start point the next morning. .

 

This event does not provide individual participation insurance. Important for you to read,understand and agree to event waiver if you choose to participate and progress through registration process.

Any event media and relevent information regarding updates are communicated to paddlers and followers through the facebook platform .

 EVENT WAIVER

 

In Consideration of the acceptance of my entry in “BIG CLARENCE 100” 2024

  1. For myself ,my executors ,administrators, heirs  I hereby waive and release any  and all claims I may have against the Event Management and   their Event Partners, Officers ,Directors, Member ,Volunteers , Contracted labour  or assigns (“The Releases”) including any and all claims for personal injury ,death or damage to personal belongings caused by the negligence of any of them arising out of my participating in the event and its related activity, together with any costs including legal fees that may be incurred as a result of any such claim whether valid or not.
  2. I hereby indemnify and hold harmless “The Releases” and each of them against any such claim that I or my guests or any one or more of my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successes and designs may have or asset against costs including legal fees with respect thereof.
  3. I hereby acknowledge that I have the sole responsibility for my personal possessions and effects and any athletic equipment during the “BIG CLARENCE 100” event and its related activities.
  4. I hereby acknowledge that participating in the “BIG CLARENCE 100”  paddle event carries with it potential hazard. I therefore release Event Management and   their Event Partners, Officers, Directors, Member, Volunteers, contracted labour or assigns (“The Releases”), of any liability resulting from injury or death during the event and its related activity.
  5. I hereby attest and verify that I am physically fit and have trained for this competition and that my physical condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor.
  6. I hereby consent to receive treatment by any individual in any “Act of Good Faith” which may be deemed advisable to assist with any personal injury accident and or illness during the BIG CLARENCE 100” paddle event.
  7. I hereby acknowledge that event management has requested strongly the use of a suitable Personal Floatation Device during the event. This event comes with considerable personal risk to life health and safety. By not wearing a PFD I release the event management from any liability resulting from injury or death during the event or related activity that could have been prevented by the wearing of a PFD safety device
  8. By acknowledging this waiver, the participant also releases to event management any image or other media format that may contain the presence of the participant in any setting. All media produced by event management remains in ownership of event management and may be used for any advertising and marketing purpose ongoing at the management discretion
