Start For The
Gas Field Grinder in Aztec, NM.
You will cross over the Animas River and have a guided Roll-Out going North East on Ruins Road, CR 2900 before being let loose on the Gas Field Roads of San Juan County. This route is almost all dirt while starting and finishing on a few miles of pavement. You'll encounter breathtaking views in the Bohanon Canyon Complex Fossil Area north of Aztec, NM.
Participants: CR-2900 will remain open to traffic and that everyone shall abide by all traffic rules and regulations while traveling along the public Right Of Way on CR-2900
Distances of 12 miles, 27 miles and 50 miles.
These roads may be sandier on the 50 mile loop than the shorter courses, make sure your gravel bike is running fatter tires for the sandy roads NM has to offer! Don't worry about it being called a Gravel Style Cycling Event, a Mountain Bike is perfectly acceptable. MANDATORY navigation device with the route you are riding on the 50-mile distance. The course will be marked the best we can but if we use the combination, we should avoid lost riders.

Packet Pickup 2:00 - 3:45 PM.
4:00PM Start for the amature distances with a group "Rollout" with a pace vehicle until we leave the paved road.
4:20PM Start for the PRO Riders with a group "Rollout" with a pace vehicle until we leave the paved road.
Podiums will be called once the top 3 finishers arrive in each category.
Volunteers get the entry fee for a rider of their choice being paid for. Please email us to arrange this.
