2023 National Canoe Marathon Champs over two days, 20 -21 May Summary of Event Waitemata Canoe & Multisport Club will be hosting the 2023 National Canoe Marathon Champs on the 20th & 21st May 2023. Kayakers from around NZ will convene at the Taipari Strand to compete to see who the faster marathon paddler in their age groups is. Competitors will range in age from 10yrs old right through to 70+ Individual Races will be on Saturday and the team boats will be racing on Sunday. Distances will vary from 5km right through to 29km’s and in most cases will include a portage off the water onto land then back onto the water.
