I race cross-country skiing in the winter and cross-country mountain biking in the summer. My strongest discipline is classic cross-country skiing, but I enjoy a mix of all types of racing - short & long, summer & winter.
Race report
Mechanical problem - gear shifter ran out of battery!
Slow old snow, used zeros.
-8C & hard wax! Kick & glide was excellent.
"Ok" race - had a hard time in the middle 10km. Recovered for the last 10km.
Good battle with Todd all the way through the race...
Good "shooting", not so great skiing...
Good race given it was the first of the season. Conditions were -4C, new snow.
A pretty clean run - a touch-down on one corner but no more than 10 secs lost. Good effort for the first race of the biking season! It was hot - 90F.
Good skis! Ok for effort.
Distance was a "long" 30km - more like 34km, Fast new snow, good skating conditions. +0C, light snow.
Classic went well, but had a really hard time skating - stiff legs for the first 5 km of the skating leg. 1st ever skiathlon race for me.
Photo finish! I pulled 90% which wasn't all that smart - high speed race thanks to fast conditions.
Good skis, decent effort for 5th day on snow...
Relatively clean run, spun out once.
Great skis early - but not late !
Good kick, felt ok, but glide was poor.
Skis ok, but body was dehydrated...
Good kick, bad glide!
2 laps skating, interval start. Good race !
Probably the best race of my career - 31 seconds off the fastest overall time (of any category). M4 category was full of fast skiers this year - 8th in category felt like a disappointment...
