Race report
Ideal weather. Dry and not too warm. Summer kit perfect. Good pace on hill, reserve payed off on last half-mile steep pitch (passed four riders there). Downhill has at least one sketchy left hand corner. Great pull down the Chumstick Highway. Passed four more riders on final four miles to Peshastin finish. Perfect pacing for me.
Awesome weather for the inaugural event. Great gravel, and safe pavement sections.
Weather was perfect. Temps just a little higher than expected cold, but that made them perfect. Rains from the previous days dropped the dust to near zero. As I said, perfect.
Great temps in the high 50s, moderate wind, dry. Perfect training and taper, which showed in the final pitch to the top as well as the ride into Peshastin.
Hard ride. Brutal west wind. Made a key bridge at the crest of the first climb and Tom and I made it stick.
Conditions near perfect. Not hot. Swakane Canyon Rd. delivered the fatigue I knew it would. A little rain (moderate) just when descending second big climb, but it did not persist as I descended.
Awesome ride with Mark
This is just a beast of the beasts. Great weather here. The Icee delivered just 500 feet below the top of the final climb was awesome. Frozen flavored ice in the middle of nowhere!
Rode as a group of Chinook riders. Headwind going westbound. Just a spit of good rain for about four miles leaving Lyle. Gravel and pavement conditions were perfect. Welcome tailwind coming home made the last ten miles seem like less.
A cooler than normal GF Ellensburg. And the cool was nice.
Two hours of dry, then the sky opened up. Descent into Lyle required a hand in front of the face to shield it from the driving rain. One of my best rides.
Working together with John, who was having a tough second half. Weather was the best seen for GFE.
Great weather for GFG. Moderate headwind from the East on the return.
