Course was set incorrectly and competitors watches on average said 2500m
Water was like glass
Course spot on 1800m, (including section from beach to first buoy). Small surf break. First race with Ollie, who was the youngest competitor, (and he nearly beat me!)
Near perfect day. Various swimmers watches had course just about right on 2km. Outgoing tide. 1st leg to the island good, 2nd leg short of major rocks unpleasant sloppy sea, 3rd leg back against the tide. Big entry list.
Swimmers watch said 1968m. Dead flat, overcast day, no wind, slight outgoing tide provided assistance at start along breakwall to first turn at bommie.
Swimmers watch said 1940m. Conditions a little sloppy, water warm, and slight outgoing tide. Swam too far to the left on 1st and 3rd leg. Started too fast.

Perfect swimming conditions and overcast. (My back L5S1 really sore, nearly didn't swim).
