Race report
I missed my front row call-up. Started from the back and finished in 14th out of 34 racers.
Finished in 8th. A wet course that needed a lot of constant power.
Last race of the CX season.
My best finish here in Woodland Park!!!
Cross at a golf course!!!!
Front row start, bad start, down in the pits(sand), a couple of bobbles etc. etc.....
Initially, I was 12th. Then after corrections/appeals, actually 16th.
Finished 7th out of 34 racers, 2:15 behind winner.
Finished 6th out of 36 racers.1:05 behind winner.
Warmer and dustier than yesterday's race..
1st race of the CX season!!
Busted my 3rd wheel for the season during warm-up recon by crashing twice on the 2 descent. It was nice to ride the course that will be used for next season's Nationals.
A forgettable result, 4:31 behind the winner.
At the very back of the field start. Finished 37th out of 84 racers, 4:29 behind the winner. 5 laps, lap progression-53rd, 44th, 43rd, 41st, then finally 37th at the finish line.
3:18 behind the winner....yuck.
I had a good start during the 1st lap but ruined it with a touch of wheel with the rider in front of me. Forced me of my pedals and had difficulty starting again that so many riders past me. Couldn't regain my previous position.
Last year, I was 24th. This year, 23rd. Last year, I was 2:55 behind the winner. This year, I was 2:00 behind the winner.
Finished 12th at 1:14 behind the winner. I was hoping for a top 10 but a couple of sand bobbles did me in. Busted my carbon wheelset by taking a short cut thru the rock section. Luckily, I was still able to ride/race them all the way to the finish.
Not an "off" day but not the best performance also. Not fully rested coming to this race. Could only manage 15th place finish out of 32 racers. 2:09 behind the winner.USA Cycling came out with an updated result. Actually finished 16th. Next time, they should use a chip timer.
Hard and bumpy but fast. 20th place out of 93 (a big field!!). 1:37 behind the winner. Last year, I was 27th and 2:50 behind the winner.
Finished in 9th place out of 40 racers. Only 50 seconds behind the winner. YOO-HOO!!!! 1st top 10 of the season!!
A good race to start the season. 22nd.
My last race of the CX season. Thought I had 5th, but I was 6th. Small group, only 13 racers. 1:09 behind the winner.
Finished in 6th place. My best result ever. A very challenging course too.
A very good race today. Finished 9th, 1:36 behind the winner. A fast course, bumpy, lots of rocks and surprisingly dry.
A hard race. I enjoyed today's race. Started in 44th on lap 1 and finished 30th. Went down once but did not lose any placings.
I had an "off day" today.
A good race despite the lack of sleep and feeling nauseous. I thought that I would feel terrible during the race but I wasn't. A 3rd row start also helped. My lap position improved as the race went on - 30th, 29th, 28th and finally 27th at the finish. 2:38 behind the winner. My lap rankings also was improving - 30th(lap 1), 27th(lap 2), 24th(lap 3) and 17th(lap 4). Felt it was a smooth race for me.
A disappointing day. I had a 1st row start and 4th position after the gun. Then got ruined by small mistakes at the technical sections on the course. Finished in 18th position. Last year, I was 9th. Today was sunny, last year was cold and rain. Wish it was like last year's weather. Didn't even finish in the top half of the finishers. Bummer.
After many days of stormy weather, the course was muddy on the grassy field and very muddy by the tennis courts and bunker mound. I got a 2nd row start which helped a lot. Stayed pretty consistent throughout the races. Lap position were 22nd, 21st, and finally 24th on the last 2 laps. 2:55 behind the winner. p.s. My rear tire almost gave out during the race - has a sidewall bulge now. Needs to be replaced.
Due to storm, the grassy course was muddy. It was also cold and wet. True cross.Finished 9th out of 21 racers. 2:26 behind the winner. Today's result equaled my best finish last year.
I did the race on a borrowed bike because I snapped my derailleur hangar. The bike was 1 size too small but it was not an issue. It was better than not racing at all.
This is my least favorite course. Treated this as a "training race". But it was still a "super hard effort" to do this. I did improve my riding skill on the 2 long sand sections. But they were very draining. Not much left afterwards for the uphill section. My right thigh was cramping on the last lap. Finished 39th out of 71 racers. My lap placings were 43rd, 40th,39th,38th and finally 39th. Finished 8:11 behind the winner....bummer. But I didn't get lapped.I went down once during race. Scraped the elbow.
It was a steady race today. I was mid pack for the start and pretty much kept my position. I went down on 1 technical section/off camber turn and hit my head on a course pole hard (thank God for the helmet). After that I ran that section instead of riding it. It was a warm day and the course was dry and dusty. The bumpiness of the mid field was not bad.
Top Ten finish!!! Yoohoo!!!!! Bumpy course with 2 sets of barriers, 2 short runups, 1 short sand section in a flat, grassy and wet field. Front row start. Pedals/cleats were getting clogged which delayed clipping in by a few seconds.
A few places better than last year. But it should've been higher since the beach course was removed and I had a 2nd row start. I was 19th in the 1st lap, then 24th, then 31st, finally 35th. A little disappointed with my slow decline in placings. Finished 2:50 behind winner.
Final race of the season. Went down fighting.......literally. Got squeezed/pushed off the course 2x. Able to recover quickly both times but probably lost out on a higher placing than 42nd. My lap times shows I got faster as the race got longer. It also shows my placing got better each lap, 51st on the 1st lap, then 42nd on 4th/final lap.Til next year.
Sunny, still muddy(like peanut butter) and colder. Better result(front row start) though, lost a few places on the 1st lap but regained 3 places at the end. 4 laps.
Rainy and muddy. True cross!! 3 laps.
First top 10 finish!!!!
Back of field start. Thumbs down.
1 crash and a lot of small mistakes cost me a first top 10 finish.
1 mistake at first lap cost me a higher placing.
Hardest course ever! I didn't get lapped like last year. Back of field start.
First top 15 finish!
Bumpy course. Back of field start.
Great course. Nice finish.
Timing chip failed to score. Actual race finish position possibly 38th or 37th.
