Race report
First CX race after broken ribs/punctured lung and shoulder surgery about a month ago.
One of the best races I've had, a hard push all the way through!
Super rooty trail. Had borrowed a bike for this race (From Derrick), had gears but super skinny tires. The weather was warmer than it had been for a couple of months, I think that effected everybody.
Borrowed an XL bike (too big for me), significantly slower than last time trial. Strange bike is only a part of the story - Thanks Brad for letting me ride it!
Raced on the Single Speed. Torn tire knobs, play in the front fork, play in rear hub, time for some service and a new bike! More than that, slowed down on last lap, losing motivation. Gotta learn to keep pushing...
Bad race, tire wear hampering me!
Good race, didn't leave much on the table, balance suffered some.
Slowed down a touch because of the slippery conditions. Overall a good race, always wondering if I could've gone a touch harder!
Many people dropped out due to intense heat. My lap times dropped considerably on lap 5, before the 3 hour mark. Lessons learned, hydrate more!
Ran a 32/17 gear, which matched the course a bit better. I pushed hard, didn’t feel completely recovered from the work out over the last two days, but happy with the results none the less. :)
Flat tire, should've tapered this week oh well, pushed hard...
Run in the morning, nachos for lunch, nachos for dinner. Nope, need a taller gear + real food. I shall be back..
Gear too low, need to switch gears wink wink. Ran 32 by 18, ought to try 32/17.
Had to do one lap without water, 2 laps without nutrition... Pushed hard anyway, among fast company!
32/18 gear, a bit too low. Good race overall. :)
Fun race!
