Banana Slug #5 - Humboldt Redwoods State Park

Welcome to the registration page for the FINAL Banana Slug ride of 2024. We will meet at the Dyerville Overlook and the ride will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. There will be a rider meeting at 9:50.

We will ride out Mattole Road to Look Prairie and then follow along Peavine Ridge, and Fox Camp (Rainbow Ridge). riders will decend Mattole Road to get back to Dyerville Bar (overlook).

Humboldt Redwoods State Park does not allow ebikes on the multi-use trails that comprise much of the route.

The route is about 34 miles with almost 4700 feet of vertical gain on mostly dirt/gravel roads with grades as steep as 20% in places. This is a relatively remote route with no expectation of a cellular phone signal so the buddy system is strongly encouraged. Please be self sufficient and know your limitations; there is no event support along the route. Bring plenty of water; there's untreated water along the route if you have a filter.
